Courses offered: Applications are invited for admission to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Nautical Science) – 2010
Eligibility: 1 Pass in 10 + 2 examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% marks in PCM aggregate. OR
With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10 + 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board. OR
B.E./B.Tech or its equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC/DEC. AND
2 Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.
Note 1: Those appearing in eligibility educational qualification examination are also eligible to apply provided they meet all the
eligibility criteria and produce the certificates to that effect.
Note 2: The candidates with three year Diploma from a recognized polytechnic are also eligible for making application for the entrance
test as the three-year polytechnic Diploma is equated with 10+2 examination and accordingly their PCM aggregate in the Diploma programme shall not be less than 55%.
Age Limit: Not more than 25 years. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Application procedure: The Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from IMU Chennai on payment of Rs.800/- in cash (Rs.450/- for SC / ST candidates). It can also be downloaded from IMU website i.e. http://www.imu.tn.nic.in . It can also be obtained by POST by sending Demand Draft for Rs.800/- drawn in favour of IMU and payable at Chennai by addressing your request to the Head-Nautical Science Department, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai 600 119.

AFMC2009 Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam
Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam is conducted by AFMC each year for the students aspiring for MBBS courses. The college is situated in pune and takes around 130 students each year.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The candidate appearing for AFMC examination must be a citizen of India or should be a migrant to India with a definite intention of settling down in India.
2. The candidate must be unmarried and must remain single throughout the course.
3. The age of the candidate must be between 17 years to 22 years.

ELIGIBILITY FOR JEE-2009
A candidate has to satisfy ALL the eligibility conditions given below:
* A candidate can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years. Those who have appeared in JEE in 2007 or earlier are not eligible for appearing in JEE-2009.
* Candidates appearing in JEE-2009 should have either passed the qualifying examination in 2008 or should be appearing in 2009. They should also satisfy the specific eligibility criteria in the qualifying examination. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination before October 1, 2007 are not eligible to write JEE-2009.
* Candidates should meet the age requirements given below.
* Candidates should NOT have accepted admission by paying full fees at any of the IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi or ISMU, Dhanbad, through earlier JEE.
