Courses offered: CSIR – AIST One Year Post Graduate Diploma in Mineral Engineering – 2009
Eligibility : Degree in Engineering / Tech. or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mineral and Mining Engineering from any recognised University / Institute.
M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry, Geology / Applied Geology from any recognised University / Institute.
Age
The age limit for the ‘non-sponsored’ candidates will be 30 years and there will be no age limit for ‘sponsored’ candidates.
The age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates (only in the ‘non-sponsored’ category) will be extended as per rules.
Application procedure: Interested candidates should download the application form and send duly filled application, along with the application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates applying in non-sponsored category) and necessary certificates. The application fee should be paid in form of a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of “CSIR-AIST PG Diploma in Mineral Engineering” payable at Bhubaneswar.

Anna University TNEA 2009 Admissions
Applications for the BE, B Tech admissions in Tamil Nadu’s Anna University will start today. The applications are available both online and through distribution centres till 30th of this month.
General applicants will have to pay Rs. 500 for the form, while the fee is Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates. At the counters, payment could be made by cash or by Demand Draft, while Rs. 200 should be added to the application fee if applied by post. All Demand Drafts, drawn on any nationalised bank, are to be addressed to “The Director, Admissions, Anna University, Chennai” payable at Chennai.
Applications should be sent to “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2009, Anna University, Chennai, Chennai – 600 025” and should reachbefore 5.30 p.m. on May 31.

Admission to B.SC Nautical Science (3 years) – 2009
Eligibility: Admission to this programme is offered on the basis of qualifying in a written test.
The candidates seeking admission can fall in two categories namely Sponsored and Non-Sponsored.
Educational Qualification
(1) Pass in 10 + 2 examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% marks in PCM aggregate. Or
With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B.Sc., with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10 + 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board. Or
B.E./B.Tech or its equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/ UGC/DEC. and
(2) Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.
Note1: Those appearing in eligibility educational qualification examination are also eligible to apply provided they meet all the eligibility criteria and produce the certificates to that effect.
2: The candidates with three year Diploma from a recognized polytechnic are also eligible for making application for the entrance test as the three-year polytechnic Diploma is equated with 10+2 examination and accordingly their PCM aggregate in the Diploma programme shall not be less than 55%.
Age Limit:
- Not more than 25 years
The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Candidates must be medically fit as per the Maritime standard.

Eligibility Criteria
For eligibility for 85% seats category candidates should be a resident of Punjab State in terms of Punjab Govt., Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (PP II Branch) letter no. 1/3/95-3PP II/9619 dated 6th June 1996 and letter no. 1/3/95-3PP II / 81 dated 1st Jan 1999 OR Should have passed 10+1 and 10+2 examination as a regular candidate from recognized institution situated in Punjab. Each candidate would be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal / Head of Institution last attended in the prescribed performa.
Note: The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination shall also be eligible to appear in the Entrance Test. The admission of such candidates to the Entrance Test shall be purely provisional and shall stand cancelled, if they fail to produce their eligibility at the time of counselling.
